How it all started

Black Mold News was founded by Moe Bedard, a leading mold expert with over 15 years of experience serving homeowners and businesses across Southern California. As the owner of Mold Safe Solutions, Moe has built a reputation for integrity, thoroughness, and real-world expertise in mold inspection, testing, and remediation.

Moe’s journey into this field is deeply personal. From 2009 to 2014, his family—especially his young son, Micah—suffered serious health issues caused by toxic black mold exposure in their leased home. What followed was a five-year ordeal of medical recovery, research, and legal battles that opened Moe’s eyes to how widespread and misunderstood mold problems truly are.

Out of that experience came a mission: to help others avoid the same hardship his family endured. He founded Mold Safe Solutions to provide safe, science-backed mold services and later launched Black Mold News as an independent online resource dedicated to public awareness, education, and advocacy.

Today, Black Mold News serves as a trusted hub for homeowners, tenants, and professionals seeking reliable information on mold identification, health risks, prevention, and legal rights.
